Save time and shop with confidence! Watch the lesson preview video here.
This engaging, interactive Bible lesson provides a real-world understanding of the Holy Spirit, helping students in grades 4-8 to grasp His true nature through hands-on experiments and discussions. In today's digital world, children are frequently exposed to concepts of "spirits," "forces," and "ghosts" in video games, movies, and books. It is just a small leap for them to assume that the Holy Spirit functions like the supernatural elements in their fictional worlds, making this an important lesson for students in this age group.
⭐️It is IMPORTANT that you read the definition of the Holy Spirit below (the launching point for the discussion and experimentation) so that you know what you are purchasing:
The Holy Spirit is an unseen member of the Trinity (the 3-in-1) that powerfully indwells God’s people and seals their salvation. The Holy Spirit comforts, counsels and convicts as He seeks to make us more like Christ.
Interactive Experiments to Teach Key Concepts
This lesson includes three exciting science experiments to illustrate the Holy Spirit’s role in our lives:
✅ Rushing Winds (Unseen but Powerful) – Using a blow dryer and a ping pong ball, this experiment show students that while the Holy Spirit is unseen, He is present, can be felt and is powerful. The third member of the Trinity is not an impersonal “force” that can be manipulated.
✅ Fill ‘Em Up! (Indwelling in Believers) – The Holy Spirit indwells and inhabits each believer individually. Just like a sponge we can either soak it up (expanding the work of the Holy Spirit in our life) or let it become dry and rigid (quenching the Holy Spirit). You will demonstrate with an extremely dry sponge and a bucket of water so that your students can soak in this important reminder!
✅ Paid in Full (Sealing Salvation) – A simple envelope demonstration will illustrate how the Holy Spirit seals our salvation, providing assurance that we belong to God forever.
