This engaging Deuteronomy curriculum survey is divided into five sections:
✴️Part A – Remembering the Journey (Deuteronomy 1–3): Students use the worksheet Flipping Through Deuteronomy to trace Israel’s 40 years in the wilderness, identifying transitional words and learning how Moses reminded the people to stay faithful to God.
✴️Part B – The Shema (Deuteronomy 6:4–9): Students color-code the Shema, cut and glue a mezuzah on a paper doorframe, and fold a phylactery (tefillin) box with step-by-step wrapping instructions as the Jewish people do in strict adherence of the commands of these important verses.
✴️Part C – Hearts of Stone vs. Hearts of Flesh: Using Ezekiel 36:26, students compare hard and soft hearts, then design a tactile advertising poster showing why a God-given heart of flesh is far better than a heart of stone.
✴️Part D – Special Edition of the Promised Land News: Students read a three-page newspaper that highlights Moses’ life, death, and legacy with a modern journalistic twist.
✴️Part E – Jesus and Deuteronomy: Students learn how Jesus quoted Deuteronomy during His temptations in the wilderness, tying the lessons of Moses to the ultimate command: to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind.
This Bible lesson on Deuteronomy helps students connect Moses’ final words to God’s people with the greater hope fulfilled in Christ as the Ultimate Prophet. Perfect for Christian classrooms, Sunday school, or homeschool Bible study, this unit makes Scripture come alive through crafts, projects, and meaningful discussions.
